Battling ignorance

So here’s the initial (ridiculous) claim:

I replied:

Someone else tried to get al scientifikul on me:

He never responded.

Another guy cast doubt on what China and India are doing.

And no, this guy never responded, either.

As I copied this stuff down, I noticed there was yet another response, so I referred this other fellow to  https://350.org/science/

Dead Boy Detectives

Just finished watching the first episode of Dead Boy Detectives (Available on Netflix). Good stuff! Of course, I read the source material, so I'm familiar with the characters and their back stories. Pictured are the two dead boys. They're ghosts and the living young woman with them has psychic powers, so she can see them and talk with them. I like the philosophy/theology that forms the backdrop of their tales.

Death, seen here with her brother Dream and someone who has just now died, acts kind of like the Viking Valkyries, she physically transports your soul to the afterlife. You get to chat with her for a minute or so and then she'll take you there. The whole point is, at least at the very end of your life, no matter how miserable or tragic your life was, you get to speak with someone who cares.

In the comic book, there's a whole story about why Death has not taken the two dead boys off to the afterlife, but the first episode doesn't go into that.

War in Ukraine 25Apr2024

France’s Macron defends Ukraine as being essential to Europe’s security. Russian pundit Solovyev “throws a tantrum” over what Macron has said.

Russia trying to destroy as much of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure as possible before US aid arrives.

Now Russia’s hitting railways.

Zelenskyy thanks everyone who has helped.

Piece on why Europeans are reluctant to part with Patriot missile systems. These systems take a long time to produce.

The House vote [to resume aid to Ukraine] stops the hemorrhage of US credibility that had thrown US allies into varying degrees of alarm and demoralized Ukrainians…

Is the aid package enough? Ehh, it’s a good start. Can they get another one through? Hard to say. Blogger feels Biden Administration is too “risk averse.”

“What is more, even the fresh infusion of weaponry will not wholly eliminate Russia’s advantage in terms of firepower.“ Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against assaults by air shrank during dithering by the House. It’s hard to make up for that as a great deal of infrastructure has been destroyed.

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, warns that “’the era of peace in Europe is over’ and that Kyiv would inevitably need more help to fight off Russia. … No single package can stop the Russians. What will stop the Russians is a united front of all of Ukraine and all of its partners.”

A Ukrainian veteran now living in Texas, warns that Russian propaganda can turn a country against Ukraine at any time. Ukrainians need to be aware of this. Russians use “disinformation, bribery, and the use of ‘useful idiots.’” Ukraine needs to localize weapons production.

The constant stress of living in wartime conditions.

Long video of a Russian armored assault on Krasnohorivka.

Murders committed by Russian soldiers who return from the war is over 100.

Petroleum tanks holding 200 liters each catch fire in Omsk (roughly 1k miles from Ukraine, just North of Kazakhstan).
