We took one with a leader in the Conservative party. I asked, being a very young and earnest fellow, if England "Had learned the lessons of appeasement." Now remember, this was a member of the Conservative Party 30 years ago, he responded "I think we've OVER-learned those lessons." Even back then, these were old and tired "lessons" that everyone had long since learned.<BR/>Simply promising to talk with one's foes, as Barack Obama has done, would correct the ridiculous policy set forth by Ronald Reagan of never negotiating with "bad guys." This policy (Which not even Reagan could sustain, see "Iran-Contra" ) has been an utter failure from the moment it was adopted.
